Hello fellow crafty people :)
A while ago someone asked me to make some sample berets for them. They supplied me with some thick yarn and some patterns downloaded from the internet and a bit of an idea what they were looking for.
I tried (really I did!) to make something that worked nicely with that yarn and one of those patterns but it just wouldn't work. I was getting something that looked more like a shopping bag bedraggling off my head than any kind of stylish head-wear.
So I sat down with a clean slate (a.k.a. not a clue) and started afresh. This beret is the result. The Someone who asked was pleased with it (but I'm sworn to secrecy on who that was) and so was my husband - he said it deserved to go up on a webpage.
After having made several samples for the Someone I really didn't feel like doing another and complained that, anyway, I didn't have any suitable yarn for it.
"I'll take you to the wool shop," he said. And you all know what happened next, don't you?
The pattern is available here.
I hope you enjoy making it... Megan
